Magnified Voices engaged in community outreach Hillsborough through the summer of 2026. This year we started the Wimauma Fight Summer Hunger Emergency Food Drive. It launched July 1, and we stepped up to ensure families had the support they needed during the months when school meals disappear and household budgets stretch thin.
This initiative focused on providing kid friendly, easy to prepare foods like peanut butter, jelly, cereal, mac and cheese, and breakfast bars, items children can safely make on their own and that help keep them nourished throughout the day. Summer hunger is a real challenge for many Wimauma families, and this drive allowed our community to come together in a practical, meaningful way to keep kids strong, healthy, and ready for the school year ahead.
We received so many thoughtful donations and a group of our volunteers coordinated drop off to directly support local families facing food insecurity over the summer.
July 31st marked the final day of our summer food distribution, where we provided families with nutritious groceries, personal hygiene essentials, and back to school supplies. Over the course of the program, we supported 18 families, including 56 children, ensuring they had consistent access to the resources they needed during the break.
Community Outreach Hillsborough Means Ongoing Support
Our commitment doesn’t end here. Each family will continue with us through our Stabilization Program, where we focus on long term support and resilience. The expected impact includes improved stabilization outcomes, timely benefits renewals, crisis prevention, expanded healthcare access, and skill building opportunities designed to strengthen household stability.
This summer’s work reflects our mission in action, meeting families’ immediate needs while building pathways toward lasting security and opportunity.
This is what showing up looks like: meeting people where they are, making sure no one is left behind, and strengthening the trust our community relies on year‑round.
