813 Stop the Violence Inc. is a local organization committed to healing, empowerment, and safer communities across Tampa Bay. Their work and this community outreach event centers families who have been impacted by violence and creates spaces where youth, parents, and neighbors can connect with resources, encouragement, and hope. Through events, outreach, and year round support, they bring people together to build stronger, more resilient neighborhoods.
Magnified Voices attended this weekend’s stop on their tour to stand in solidarity with their mission. Our team tabled, shared resources, and connected with families throughout the day. We registered community members to vote by mail, checked VBM status for others, and celebrated registering a brand new voter. We were also grateful to see Angels Moms present, offering strength, remembrance, and support to families navigating unimaginable loss. Their presence added a powerful layer of love and community care to the event.
Community Outreach Events Builds Awareness and Strengthens Community Ties
The day was also filled with joy and movement, kids and families jumped into flag football, tug of war, dance contests and other games that brought the park to life. Before all of the action got started, we had the chance to talk with young kids about the importance of voting. One child proudly shared that they were learning about voting in school and explained why it matters. That moment was deeply inspiring and lets us know that our next generation is paying attention, and that all hope is not lost.
Together, these moments show how powerful it is when organizations stand shoulder to shoulder, each doing their part to strengthen and uplift our community.
